Many of the trends the legal market was experiencing before the economic crisis hit – such as the rise in power of the general counsel and in-house function, demand for alternative billing options and more innovative approaches to the way firms handle cases  – have accelerated through the period of economic turbulence and been amplified in the litigation market.
